What happens in a Soul Motion class?
Soul Motion classes are structured according to very free schemes and usually closely linked to the personal style of the teacher/facilitator who leads them.
There is usually a first warm-up phase where the invitation is to become familiar with the space, to connect to one’s breath, to bring attention to one’s thoughts and to listen to what moves inside in the present moment.
Then slowly the journey through music and dance begins. The invitation is to maintain an open perspective, a non-judgmental attitude and the intention to get involved by the experience itself and by the energy of the group.
In Soul Motion the musical choice ranges between the most diverse genres, sounds and rhythms that allow the exploration of multiple types of involvement and movement.
From funk to jazz, from classical to ethnic music, from tribal to pop, everything allows a different perspective of observation with respect to one’s feelings, one’s letting go, one’s need for intimacy, the flow of different inner landscapes.
With regular practice, awareness of oneself and one’s body is refined, new possibilities of movement are discovered which then means, beyond the dance floor, new ways of moving in the world; weights, thoughts and stiffness are unloaded, emotions are transformed, one is recharged with vitality and joie de vivre.
